KINDERGARTEN
The Kindergarten at Azaiba Private School Muscat, Oman is a place where children can learn and be inspired in a safe, friendly, and fun environment.
The Kindergarten educates children from the ages of 3 to 5 years old (Pre-KG, KG1, and KG2) and we take great pride in our ability to support, challenge, and inspire every child to achieve their very best, whilst developing a lifelong love of learning.
Our teaching team has created a curriculum that reflects the high standards and expectations that we have for all of our children. In Kindergarten, our children learn the essential building blocks of reading, writing, mathematics, and science, all personalized to their own particular needs. They also enjoy specialist teaching in Arabic and Islamic every week, as part of their regular curriculum.
We also recognize that education is most successful when it involves a strong partnership with parents, so ongoing two-way contact and communication with parents is extremely important to us and is always encouraged. We happily welcome parents into the classroom at the beginning of each day and we also provide regular updates on a child’s development and progress, both formally and informally.

MIDDLE SCHOOL
In our Middle School, boys and girls (gd 6-8), receive instruction in separate classes. Our core subjects include Arabic, English, Humanities, Math and Science. We follow the Ministry requirements for all Arabic medium subjects and the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards, and the Virginia State Standards from the United States of America for English medium subjects. We tailor our Arabic medium courses for native speakers and non-native speakers and offer Islamic Studies to all Muslim students.
Students read a variety of literature for Arabic, English, and Humanities, with the focus on learners developing skills to read and analyze a wide variety of complex texts. Similarly, our students will learn how to express their thoughts using different forms of writing.
Literacy and numeracy will be emphasized across all subjects. Listening and speaking skills will be developed through discussions and presentations. In particular, Mathematics and Science will involve inquiry-based learning, as we endeavor to mature our students’ reasoning, logic, and critical thinking skills.
Our teachers integrate technology into their daily lessons and activities. We have smart interactive panels in every classroom and 1:1 iPad and Chromebook programs.
In addition to the core curriculum, our Middle School also offers courses in Physical Education, Art, Music, Information Technology, and Moral Education. At Azaiba Private School we believe in the importance of developing the whole individual, by helping our students explore their interests in many different disciplines. Students often participate in performances and presentations related to their interests, which range from art exhibits to theatrical performances, or musical presentations.
ELEMENTARY
The Elementary School offers a child-centered and academically rigorous curriculum that addresses and supports the intellectual, social, and emotional needs of each child. Our goal is to develop young people who are independent and creative learners and thinkers, whilst being open-minded, caring, good communicators, and ready to take responsibility for making a difference in the world around them.
Students spend the majority of their time with the class teacher, where they focus on studying English, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, and Moral Education, whilst they are taught by specialist teachers in Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies, Art, Music, and Physical Education. We recognize and celebrate the fact that for many students, English is a second language. Pastoral care is provided by a dedicated team of class teachers, assistants, and supervisors and we ensure that all children are cared for, and feel safe and happy as valued members of the Azaiba family.
